'''Georgiana Somerset, Marchioness of Worcester''' (3 October 1792 – 11 May 1821), formerly Georgiana Frederica Fitzroy, was the first wife of [[Henry Somerset, 7th Duke of Beaufort]], but died prior to his inheriting the dukedom.
Georgiana was the daughter of the Hon. Henry FitzRoy and his wife, [[Lady Anne Smith|Lady Anne Wellesley]], the Duke of Wellington's sister. Georgiana's paternal ancestors included the [[Schuyler family]], the [[Van Cortlandt family]] and the Delancey family of [[British North America]]. Following her father's death, her mother married [[Charles Culling Smith]] and had further children.
She married the future duke on 25 July 1814,<ref></ref> with two daughters.<ref name="CracroftBeaufort"></ref> when he was known as [[Marquess of Worcester]]. They had two daughters:
*Lady Charlotte Augusta Frederica Somerset (1816–1850),who married Baron [[Philipp von Neumann]] and had children
*Lady Georgiana Charlotte Anne Somerset (1817–1884), who married [[Christopher William Codrington|Christopher Bethell-Codrington]], MP, and had children.
After the death of his wife, the duke married her younger half-sister, Emily Frances Smith, on 29 June 1822. (This marriage, in contravention of the canon laws of the Church of England, rendered his marriage potentially annullable for many years: for this reason Wellington himself strongly opposed it.)
